Senior PHP Developer — Laravel / OOP / DDD

theMarketer is looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design and development of scalable, reliable backend systems for a modern, high-volume platform.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using PHP and Laravel;
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable object-oriented code;
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions using Domain-Driven Design principles;
• Build and maintain asynchronous workflows using message queues such as RabbitMQ or Amazon SQS;
• Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases;
• Write automated tests to ensure code quality and system reliability;
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and development practices;
• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle;
• Support other team members through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional experience with PHP and the Laravel ecosystem;
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering principles;
• Experience designing or working with Domain-Driven Design architectures;
• Hands-on experience with message queues;
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases and familiarity with NoSQL technologies;
• Experience writing automated tests;
• Ability to make sound technical decisions and take ownership of complex backend projects;
• A focus on clean, reliable, and maintainable code.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes;
• Exposure to AWS services;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines;
• Experience working with high-traffic or distributed systems.
