Software Developer

We build MOBILETrak, a cloud-based warehouse and inventory management suite used by utilities, electric cooperatives, and municipalities to keep operations stocked, tracked, and running. Our platform is mobile-first, supports barcode and RFID workflows, and connects in real time with ERP and billing systems. We are part of a growing multi-company technology platform and operate as a small, high-trust engineering team that moves quickly and celebrates each others wins. AI is central to how we build, and we use Cursor and AI coding agents every day to amplify engineering work. Requirements

- We want a fast-moving builder who is comfortable experimenting, shipping early, and iterating within a small team where priorities can shift. - You should bring 3+ years of professional software development experience, with strong PHP/Laravel expertise, including routing, Eloquent, middleware, and Blade. - AI-assisted development should be part of your real workflow, with sound judgment on when to trust, edit, or reject generated code; experience with Cursor or a similar AI toolchain is valued. - You need strong REST API design and development skills, including authentication such as OAuth2 or token-based methods, versioning, request validation, and error handling. - Solid relational database experience is required, especially with MySQL/MariaDB, schema design, migrations, and query optimization. - You should be comfortable working with third-party integrations using both modern JSON/REST and legacy SOAP/XML formats. - You must be proficient with Git and standard pull request/code review workflows, and able to become productive quickly in an established codebase. - You need to be based in, or able to work full-time on-site from, our Phoenix, AZ office. - A bachelors degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, though we will also consider candidates with a proven track record of shipping real work. - You must be authorized to work in the United States, as we are unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.

Responsibilities

- Build and release new capabilities on our next-generation MOBILETrak platform, including contributing to architecture and design decisions as the product evolves. - Support our current production platform by resolving issues, applying security and dependency updates, and delivering focused improvements for existing customers. - Design and implement REST APIs and integrations that connect MOBILETrak with customers ERP and billing systems. - Use Cursor and AI agents daily across coding, refactoring, code review, testing, and documentation, while applying strong technical judgment to the output. - Own features from end to end by writing clean, tested, maintainable code and participating in code reviews. - Convert product needs into technical solutions and communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
