Senior Backend Engineer - Php / Laravel

ppBlue Code is hiring a bSenior Backend Engineer (PHP / Laravel) /b with bstrong DevOps skills /bto join a growing engineering team for our client in Valencia.You'll work closely with a Tech Lead, Product Manager and Designer to build and scale the backend of a modern content operations platform with AI?powered features./ppThis is a hands?on role combining backend excellence with real DevOps ownership.You'll be part of the engineering team in Spain of this company, originally from the Netherlands./ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliDesign, build and maintain Laravel/PHP services powering the content operations platform /liliOwn and improve AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3), Docker?based deployments and CI/CD pipelines /liliModel and optimise MySQL schemas, queries and indexes for performance at scale /liliFollow SOLID principles, modern PHP best practices and cover your work with unit tests (PHPUnit / Pest) /liliCollaborate closely with Product, Design and AI teams to ship features pragmatically /li /ulh3Requirements /h3ulliMinimum 7 years of backend development /liliStrong hands?on expertise with Laravel and modern PHP (8.x) /liliSolid hands?on DevOps experience: AWS (EC2, RDS, S3), Docker and CI/CD pipelines /liliSolid MySQL skills: schema design, query optimisation and indexing /liliExperience writing unit tests with PHPUnit or Pest /liliComfortable with Git workflows (branching, code reviews, rebasing) /liliEffective use of AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) in daily work /liliProduct?minded engineer who used to colaborete with designers, PMs and frontend engineers /liliFluent English (minimum B2) is a must /li /ulh3Nice to Have (but not required) /h3ulliExperience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) or Kubernetes /liliExperience with GitLab CI specifically /liliKnowledge / Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks /liliExperience in startup or scale?up environments /liliInterest in AI?powered products or workflow automation /liliBe part of the first engineering team in Valencia of this company /liliWork on a modern, AI?enabled B2B product /liliHigh trust, low bureaucracy, real ownership /liliPermanent contract from day one /liliHybrid work model in Valencia /liliFree parking at the office /liliQuarterly trips to Amsterdam for team alignment /li /ul /p #J-*****-Ljbffr
